Course Description

Training in Security provides a nationally recognised award; the National Open College Network (NOCN) Level 2 Security Guard Course. The security guard course is spread over 4 days, and is an introductory route aimed at giving learners the basic job training to be a Security Guard. The course covers the key subjects recommended by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) enabling the learner to apply for an SIA security guard Licence.

Part 1 – Security Guard Course; Roles and Responsibility (knowledge based and assessment 22 Hours)

• Fire Safety
• Civil and Criminal Law
• Health and Safety
• Dealing with incidents and emergencies
• Procedures for the control of keys and equipment
• Assignment instructions
• Reporting

Part 2 – Security Guard Course; Communication and Conflict Management (Scenario and assessment based 8 Hours)
